Release Notes

Speakup Desktop Frontend v0.2

Supported operating systems:
  • Windows XP SP3 (x32)
  • Windows Vista SP2 (x32, x64)
  • Windows 7 (x32, x64)

Application may work well if service packs were not installed. But this scenarios were not tested.

Downloads descriptions:
  • SpeakupSetup.zip - Extract and launch setup.exe. This will install any required prerequisites and application.
  • SpeakupApplication.AnyCPU.zip - Contains application that can be run without installation on x86 or x64 platforms.
  • SpeakupApplication.x86.zip - Contains application that can be run without installation on x86 platforms.
  • SpeakupApplication.x64.zip - Contains application that can be run without installation on x64 platforms.


Administrative privileges are required if:
  • .Net Framework 4.0 is not yet installed. You need elevated privileges in order to install .Net Framework 4.0.
  • If using automatic setup ( SpeakupSetup.zip ) and your Windows Installer version is less then 5.0:
    • Windows XP SP3 has Windows Installer 3.1 by default. So user needs elevated privileges.
    • Windows Vista SP2 has Windows Installer 4.5 by default. So user needs elevated privileges.
    • Windows 7 has Windows Installer 5.0 by default. So user can install application without elevated privileges.

If .Net Framework 4.0 is already installed and you don't have user privileges, you can use SpeakupApplication.AnyCpu.zip and
extract its contest into any folder. You should have permanent write permissions to application folder.
